It’s no secret that women are underrepresented in trail and ultra running. The longer the race gets the more apparent this becomes with many 100 mile races still seeing as few as 10% women on their start lines.

We want to show women that we care about their races, and we want the next generation of little girls to see women racing and believe that they can do it too.

THE WOMEN’S TRAIL RUNNING FUND (WTF)

Across the board, womens’ races are more exciting and competitive than ever before, and we want to both celebrate those achievements and elevate their stories through livestream media and storytelling.

The money raised in this initiative aims to increase visibility of untold and overlooked stories in trail and ultrarunning by supplying grants in 2025 to creatives and athletes who wish to highlight female runners, specifically female runners across age, ability, color, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

The fund aims to amplify the presence and recognition of female athletes in trail and ultrarunning, promoting equity and inspiring future generations.

Applications open in Fall 2024 (Nov 13). An external steering committee, which will include diverse representation, will oversee the grant process to ensure inclusivity, amplifying communities not often given a seat at the table.
